Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)is a common clinical condition characterized by chronic intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation, which can lead to multi-organ and multi-system dysfunction. Prior research has shown that OSA can increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease(AD), and can also trigger abnormal lipid metabolism, an important pathogenic feature of AD. In this review, we discuss the markers of abnormal lipid metabolism of OSA, discussing the possible involvement of cholesterol, phospholipid, lipoprotein and apolipoprotein metabolism in the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease. This knowledge will be helpful in the screening of early evaluation indicators of OSA which increase the risk of AD. Further, this knowledge can be used to construct a theoretical basis for the clinical exploration of relevant biomarkers.
